Since basing ourselves in Southern California, we have been fortunate enough to explore Downtown Los Angeles. The Gallant State team recently visited the Walt Disney Concert Hall for the Noon to Midnight event. While exploring, prior to arriving at the Concert Hall, we happened to stumble upon the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Building, which is about a 5-minute walk away.
We got the feeling that there was something very familiar about the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Building, with its unique surrounding water feature and contemporary design. If you haven’t watched Inception recently, you might not have realized that the building was featured in Leonardo DiCaprio’s limbo, where he and Marion Cotillard created their own world.
Since we’re massive fans of the movie, we set up an impromptu photo shoot to take advantage of the amazing setting.
To complement the sharp edges of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Building, Gallant State model Daniel De La Rosa opted for our Spencer shirt, with its cutting-edge, geometric lines. The perfect combination of navy dress pants, light tan dress shoes and belt was chosen to complete the look.
You can see below that Daniel would have been at home with DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the filming of Inception.
Walt Disney Concert Hall
After a look around the Department of Water and Power Building, we were on our way to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. It was here that we discovered the beautiful Blue Ribbon Garden with its sea of blue hues, prompting Daniel to make a slight wardrobe change.
Sporting our William shirt, he paired it with the same navy dress pants, light tan dress shoes and belt, which shows the versatility of a navy and tan combo. We had some time to spare before the commencement of the event so we set out another spontaneous shoot.
The blue hues perfectly showcased Daniel’s outfit choice as well as Gallant State Founder, James, who chose our Jonathan shirt and contrasted the blues with a sand colored pant. Finished with his personal favorite Oxblood brogue dress shoes, the deep rich tones of red worked perfectly with the red elements in our Jonathan shirt.
At the very least, we recommend visiting both venues for a great day of sight seeing, and the addition of the Blue Ribbon Garden within the Walt Disney Concert Hall Complex gives you even more reasons to visit.
Please let us know what you think of the outfit selections below, we’d love to hear from you!
